C Steiner

I had this doll dressed and for sale but decided to make her a different costume so she will be available again in the future. With her mauve color eyes she needs a special color dress to show them off.

Emily Hart, Grandmaster of Dollmaking Presenting: French Bébé Antique Reproduction doll, originally made by the Steiner Firm. This is known as a C-series Steiner and was made in the 1880's under the reign of Monsieur Bourgoin. These were the rarest of the Steiner heads, and distinctive with large eyes and tiny rosebud mouth.

Poured in finest quality “Lady White” porcelain and with many layers of China paint meticulously applied and firings in between each layer

The skin tone is beautifully pale and with eye shadow & rosy cheeks.

She wears gorgeous earrings and matching necklace made with Genuine Swarovski crystals and Swarovski creme pearls.

This head features very finest French Paperweight hand blown solid glass eyes in “Mauve” color by Hand Glass Craft of England, the finest eyes available

Her wig is very fine New Zealand Mohair in Ash blonde color.

Extra Fine Painting completed in 2014 (this doll has been kept aside for my own collection or to be offered as a completed doll and it has taken this long to decide on what she would wear)… As always, no doll is actually finished until it is sold…

The body is French Bebe reproduction composition. Please note, hand made bodies may have slight imperfections.

This doll is 20 inches tall and 23 inches including the bonnet brim.
