Emily Hart Presenting: French Bébé Antique Reproduction porcelain doll originally made by the firm of Bru, circa 1880 Known as the model Brevete an early Bru, this is a most SUPERB doll. This doll head was painted in February of 2016 but not dressed until April 2020 Poured in "Lady White" porcelain and with many layers of China paint meticulously applied and firings in between each layer. Very fine painting, the skin tone is lovely pale and with eye shadow She wears earrings, & necklace of Genuine Swarovski crystals & a lovely little brooch with Genuine Jade nuggets in the center. This head features the very finest French Paperweight hand blown solid glass eyes by Hand Glass Craft of England in light blue color. The gorgeous Auburn wig is a GENUINE ANTIQUE WIG. Her composition 13.5 inch French Child Body features Bru lower arms.
She wears an exquisite ONE OF A KIND costume in light taupe tone pure silk taffeta. Delicate metallic Vintage trim accents the neckline. The neck lace ruffle and sleeve laces are Genuine Antique Alencon laces. Very dainty Genuine Antique reproduction laces embellish both the front, and back of this lovely dress as well as the bonnet. The bonnet is adorned with Ostrich & Mirabeau feathers & a big taffeta bow, as well as lovely handmade metallic trim of extraordinary quality. The many-layered skirt part of this dress was very labor-intensive and complicated to make. The dress is also lined in same silk as the dress with Emily’s label sewn in. Under garments of bloomers and full petticoat are made from finest pure cotton dimity and fabulous Antique reproduction cotton Maline laces.
Socks are hand knitted silk/rayon, and beautiful silk taffeta shoes in the French style made to match the costume. This doll stands 17 inches and 20.5 inches including the bonnet brim. |
