Bebe BruSOLD ON EBAY U.S. $1400.00 One of the few new ones with a Mary Lambeth pure silk taffeta costume adorned with Antique laces. Click on the image to enlarge
Emily Hart, Grandmaster of Dollmaking
Winner of over 50 International Awards, Canada's Top Trophy and many Best of Show Rosettes in International Competition
Presenting: Authentic Antique Reproduction Crescent Bru Bebe originally made by Leon Casimir Bru only during the years 1879 to 1884
This doll was made both with painted over teeth and showing the teeth as in this model. Features matching porcelain lower arms also made by Emily Hart
Painted in 2014… dressed in 2019
Very finest French Paperweight hand blown solid glass eyes by HAND GLASS CRAFT OF ENGLAND in “Blue/grey” color… this is a very authentic color for Bru Antique dolls.
This doll comes with earrings and matching necklace of Genuine Swarovski glass pearls. Swarovski created his glass pearls and crystals in the late 1800’s so these are historically correct for a Bru doll.
She comes with a gorgeous Australian mohair wig in rich brown color with center part and soft curls.
The lovely composition French Bebe body, handmade by Dick Grube features Bru lower arms. Please note handmade bodies may have slight imperfections.
Her costume consists of pure silk taffeta dress with matching bonnet. The body of the costume is hand-dyed new silk taffeta, so it looks old, but is still strong. Dress and bonnet are lined in cotton. The dress features a genuine Antique silk sash (very delicate as silk becomes weak with age & this could be 85 years old or more). Antique laces and handmade ribbon flowers adorn both dress and bonnet. This is one of the very few Mary Lambeth costumes I will part with as there are simply no more of her costumes being made now for the past 3 years.
The undergarments of 100% cotton are bloomers and half petticoat. Socks are hand knitted and she wears silk French style shoes with leather soles.
This doll stands 21.5 inches tall & 24 inches including bonnet trim.
