Emily Hart here offers, from her own PERSONAL COLLECTION, an extraordinary doll that was painted for Competition and the head kept in a drawer for many years.
This doll was never made for, nor intended to be offered for sale, and is an absolute jewel and the best of the very best of Emily Hart dolls.
French Bébé Antique Reproduction doll originally made by Emile-Louis Jumeau circa 1889 and marked 203. Very few of this model of happy faced doll were made, as all were custom ordered in the 200 series of character faces.
Poured in "Magnolia white" porcelain and with many layers of China paint meticulously applied and firings in between each layer The skin tone is very desirable pale and with eye shadow
She wears earrings and matching necklace of the very finest Genuine Swarovski crystal beads, and Swarovski Creme pearls, made especially to match her costume.
This doll features unusual glass eyes hand made by Heiko of Germany. These eyes are true “Hazel” brown eyes that look like natural eyes. Unfortunately they are hard to photograph.
Very fine and lustrous natural undyed Australian mohair wig with overall soft curls closely resembles a skin wig.
The doll has a cork pate.
Extra Fine Painting done in 2002.... this head is flawless and truly breathtaking!
PLEASE NOTE... THESE EYEBROWS ARE NOT THE SAME ON EACH SIDE BECAUSE THEY ARE PAINTED EXACTLY LIKE THE ANTIQUE DOLL WAS PAINTED.
This doll is a very difficult one to paint and few Reproduction artists will attempt to make this doll that is from an extremely rare Antique.
The body of this doll was carefully handmade by Jim Vickerman in composition with Jumeau lower arms. Please note that handmade bodies could have some tiny hairlines or imperfections in them. A new body was exchanged in February of 2023 and photos taken so what you see is what you will get.
The undergarments are 100% cotton bloomers and half slip. Socks are hand knitted silk/rayon and shoes are in the French style made from the same silk to match the costume. This doll stands 18 inches and 21 inches with bonnet included. Please Note: I am listing as “new” because she has never been undressed and remained carefully protected in a smoke-free home. |
