Emily Hart, Grandmaster of Dollmaking, is an Artist earning her living through making and selling porcelain dolls.
Presenting: Rare French Bébé Reproduction porcelain doll marked 5 H
This extraordinary beauty remained a mystery for many years. But in 1989 The French doll Expert Francois Theimer unveiled her history. Her creator was Aristide Marcellin Halopeau. The Halopeau heads were introduced in the year 1882 and manufactured by the Frayon firm of Montreuil. These dolls were only produced until 1889 therefore very few of the Antique dolls can be found today.
She was painted in 2019 Extra fine painting
Poured in finest Seeley’s “Lady White" porcelain with many layers of China paint meticulously applied with up to 6 firings in between
Very fine Authentic Reproduction French Paperweight hand blown solid glass eyes in light blue color by Hand Glass Craft of England
Her earrings and matching necklace are made of Genuine Swarovski crystals & Swarovski glass pearls.
Finest mohair wig in Blonde with center part, ringlets and bangs, custom made for Emily Hart dolls.
The body is French Bebe reproduction composition.
She wears a pale blue pure silk Shantung dress & bonnet embellished with exquisite delicate Antique reproduction laces from France & handmade velvet flowers. The wired bonnet features complex style with triple-loop Rayon Satin bow, matching French lace, and more flowers.
This costume was designed and made entirely by Emily Hart to closely resemble an Antique Halopeau Bebe costume featured in the Book “The Doll AS Art, by Stuart Holbrook.
The bonnet is lined in a light-weight pure silk jacquard-woven paisley design fabric. The dress is lined in the same silk Shantung fabric. (Shantung is a closer weave with less prominent slubs than Dupioni silk). Dress and bonnet feature Emily’s own woven labels and metallic heart that reads “Handmade with Love”.
The undergarments are boomers and half slip made of embroidered 100% cotton with cotton and rayon lace trims and silk ribbon bows in pale blue to compliment her dress.
Socks are hand knitted silk/rayon and shoes in the French style are highest quality genuine leather.
This doll is 21.5 inches tall.
Emily is the winner of over 50 International Awards, Canada's Top Trophy and many Best of Show Rosettes in International Competition including Best of Show for Costuming. |
