GumdropU.S. $595.00 Brand New and adorable! More photos available. Click on the image to enlarge
This little darling was painted in 2012, but, the head and hands were left in a drawer and never finished until July of 2022 when I put together the body, added her eyelashes and wig, and now in June of 2023 just finished this darling little velvet Romper suit and hat.
This doll was made from the very popular “Gumdrop” mold originally made by Boots Tyner. Early in my career as a doll maker, I had a teaching studio and this was one of the most popular dolls with my students… we used to call these kind of dolls “bean bag Babies” as they were the first dolls to be “weighted” with plastic pellets as this doll is also weighted.
I am going through all my drawers and pulling out all the dolls that are partly made in an effort to finish them and offer them for sale.
She is poured in Seeley’s “French Bisque” porcelain with wonderful china painting in many layers with firings in between.
This sweet doll features the highest quality solid glass paperweight eyes in cobalt blue color.
Her wig is finest pale blonde mohair.
Her body is strong 100% cotton muslin and filled with a combination of fiber fill and plastic baby pellets.
I used a gorgeous pink Panne Velvet to make her little rompers suit with matching hat. She wears lace-trimmed socks with this outfit.
She measures 16 inches
Please Note: I no longer have the mold to make more of this doll so this is the last one new one I will be able to offer.
(I do have one more that is an older doll and I will be refurbishing her at some point to sell, but not for a while as she will be quite a bit of work to renew.) |
