French Bébé Reproduction porcelain doll HEAD ONLY marked 4.5 and SCH under crossed hammers in shield

This unusual doll was made by Schmitt & Fils (Schmitt & Sons), a French doll company that operated from 1863 to 1891. The quality of dolls they produced was excellent.

Poured in finest " Magnolia White" porcelain with many layers of China paint applied meticulously with up to 6 firings in between, this is truly and exquisite doll.

Very Fine painting done in October of 2010

This is one of the most unusually modeled French dolls, she has enormous, very almond-shaped eyes, giving her a very unique look among French Bébés.

This doll features the very finest French Paperweight hand blown solid glass eyes by Hand Glass Craft of England in Mauve/lilac color with fabulous threading .

She features gorgeous mohair wig in rich auburn color with center part, bangs and soft curls.

She wears earrings of genuine Swarovski crystals and Swarovski glass pearls.
