Emily Hart, Grandmaster of Dollmaking creating Reproduction doll since 1990 Presenting: From Emily’s own PRIVATE COLLECTION. French Bébé Reproduction porcelain doll marked 4.5 and SCH under crossed hammers in shield
This unusual doll was made by Schmitt & Fils (Schmitt & Sons), a French doll company that operated from 1863 to 1891. The quality of dolls they produced was excellent.
Poured in finest porcelain in “Lady White" with many layers of China paint applied meticulously with up to 6 firings in between.
Very Fine painting done in 2017 this doll is finally dressed in 2022 with the very last Mary Lambeth costume.
This is one of the most unusually modeled of the French dolls, she has enormous, very almond-shaped eyes, giving her a very unique look among French Bébés.
She features the very finest French Paperweight hand blown solid glass eyes by Hand Glass Craft of England in light blue color with fabulous threading.
She features gorgeous very fine New Zealand mohair wig in ash blonde color with center part and soft curls.
Her necklace and matching earrings are made with Genuine Swarovski Crystals and Swarovski Creme pearls.
She is on a genuine 16.5 inch reproduction composition French Bebe body by Jim Vickerman of Joyce’s doll bodies of Oregon… absolutely superb body…. This is one of the new ones with latex paint.
The fabulous ONE OF A KIND costume is made from Antique cotton with row upon row of amazing Genuine Antique laces. The bonnet features more Antique laces and many silk-ribbon bows. The exquisitely hand-made flowers are one of a kind made especially for this costume. She wears a shawl of genuine Rabbit fur. Mary Lambeth passed on September 8th 2022, sadly we miss her and there will never be more of her wonderful costumes.
The dress is lined with vintage cotton so as to include a petticoat sewn into the dress. She has bloomers also from vintage cotton with Antique laces.
She also features hand knitted socks of silk/rayon and the shoes are in the French style made of silk taffeta with leather soles.
She stands 22 inches (56cm) and 24 inches (61 cm) to the top of the bonnet. |
