C Steiner

Emily Hart, Heirlooms Presenting: French Bébé Antique Reproduction doll HEAD ONLY, originally made by the Steiner Firm. This is known as a C-series Steiner and was made in the 1880's under the reign of Monsieur Bourgoin. These were the rarest of the Steiner heads, and distinctive with large eyes and tiny rosebud mouth.

Poured in finest quality “French Bisque” porcelain and with many layers of China paint meticulously applied and firings in between each layer

The skin tone is medium and with eye shadow

The head is signed Celina Mc 1992… that is all I know about the maker.

I added fabulous earrings of genuine Aventurine stone beads and Genuine Swarovski crystals. Antique Steiner dolls were very often made with turquoise colored bead earrings.

This head features “soft acrylic” paperweight eyes in grey color.

I also added an extremely fine HUMAN HAIR extra long wig in golden blonde color with center part. The head is 17 inches and the wig is a 16/17, so it fits very snug.

I will be sending the wig in its original box so that I doesn’t get messed up in the shipping so you will have to put it onto the head yourself after you put the head on your own body.

If you are inexperienced at adding a wig that fits tight, you may wish to have another person with you to hold the doll. I was alone putting it on the doll for the photos and I had a hard time doing it with no one to hold the doll for me. It may take a bit of fiddling, but it does fit perfectly on this head.

This head fits a 23 to 24 inch French reproduction body to be come a 30 to 31 inch doll. You could put it on a slightly smaller body.
