Emily Hart Grandmaster of Dollmaking presenting in 2023: French Bébé Bru jne 8 Antique Reproduction doll originally made the firm of Bru circa 1885 This doll is deluxe all the way! This head was painted in 2022
Poured in Bell’s "Azure White" porcelain with many layers of China paint meticulously applied and firings in between each layer The skin tone is medium pale with eye shadow
Extra fine painting.
She wears earrings and matching necklace of Genuine Swarovski crystals and genuine Swarovski creme pearls.
This doll features very finest French Paperweight hand blown solid glass eyes in Light Blue color by Hand Glass Craft of England, the finest eyes available.
Her lovely natural Platinum high luster Australian mohair wig features a center part, bangs and soft curls. The reproduction composition body, made by Dick Grube, features authentic Bru style lower arms made by Emily in Porcelain. I had this lovely bonnet, for several years, lovingly hand-stitched with many yards of pure silk ribbons over a straw frame, but had not made a dress to go with it until now, in March of 2023. I chose a pale pink pure silk charmeuse fabric and embellished the entire dress with Antique laces. It is not often that I have this much of one kind of Antique lace to work with, as the unusual Alencon lace with pink rayon threads. I used more of the same ribbons as in the bonnet to make a sash and other details to the dress. The dress features the woven label of Emily Hart Treasures. The bonnet alone takes a full four days to make and though I have one more made with different color ribbons, there will never be another doll like this one. Her undergarments of pure cotton batiste consist of bloomers and full petticoat adorned with matching pink Antique lace as the dress and bonnet. The petticoat fastens in the back with Antique Mother of Pearl buttons and is finished with French seams. Her shoes are finest genuine leather and socks are hand-knitted silk/rayon. This doll stands 19.5 inches and 22.5 inches to top of bonnet. |
