In 1996 Western Canada Doll Festival International Competition Emily Hart won the Best of Show Trophy for her Mulatto Paris Bebe in the French Reproduction dolls Category with additional ribbons for First Place and Best of Category.

This listing is for the doll, First Place Ribbon, Best of Category Rosette and Trophy for Best of Show Antique Reproduction doll, Professional, Emily Hart

This Paris Bebe model of the French Bébé was originally made by Emile-Louis Jumeau circa 1886 to1889.

This reproduction doll is poured in finest Seeley porcelain Aztec Tan, and with many layers of China paint meticulously applied and firings in between each layer. The Mulatto coloring is extremely difficult to paint.

She wears earrings of burgundy color faceted glass beads and pearl glass beads.

This doll features the very finest French Paperweight hand blown solid glass eyes by Hand Glass Craft of England in “Hazel” color with fabulous threading.

The wig for this doll is a skin wig made by Emily Hart


This doll’s body is the FB16J by Seeley's and hand-painted in several layers by Emily Hart.


The complete costume including underwear and leather shoes was made entirely by Emily Hart.

The bonnet is wired lightweight iridescent silk taffeta and features Emily's own label sewn inside.


The costume is in a typical Jumeau style with a separate silk brocade jacket and pleated silk skirt. A very tiny piping also hand made by Emily is carefully inserted to create a fine edge to jacket and sleeve cuffs.

The pattern for this costume was drafted by Emily Hart.

She wears an Authentic Reproduction French Bebe pin.

All parts of the bonnet, jacket and skirt are fully lined in silk fabrics.
The undergarments are made with 100% cotton Batiste bloomers and full slip trimmed in finest cotton Reproduction laces made in France.

One of a kind, hand-knitted cotton socks were custom made for this doll.

The shoes are just fantastic with many hours of work in them embellished with very elaborate pure silk rosettes in the fashion of the Antique shoes, also completely made by Emily Hart.

This doll stands 20.5 inches and 22.5 including the bonnet brim and comes with wooden stand.

She will be shipped with Expedited Mail with tracking number unless otherwise requested.
